Depression is a common mental health disorder. Did you know that 1 in 10 people experience it at some point? It’s a condition that affects people of all ages and backgrounds. There’s no shame in it, but it’s important to recognise it and seek help if you do start to experience it.

Self-worth is based around the idea of valuing yourself and believing that you are worthy of love and, indeed, worthy as an individual. Having a good sense of self-worth is important for leading a happy, fulfilling life. Unfortunately, for some people, a poor sense of self-worth can develop in childhood and, if untreated, persist into adulthood, often having an inhibiting and, even harmful, effect on a person’s life.

Suicidal feelings happen when the pain and torment become so overbearing, we simply can’t see any other way out. That doesn’t mean that it’s not there; it just means that we’re unable to see it. It’s like blinkered vision. It may not seem like it right now, but you can overcome these feelings; it and the pain that is causing it, will pass. What’s important is that you get the right support.
